Did you work with Flender Industrial Gearbox Shaft Seals and Housing Gaskets? According to publicly filed asbestos litigation records, it allegedly contained asbestos. Here is what it was, who was exposed, and who is responsible. Flender Industrial Gearbox Shaft Seals and Housing Gaskets, made by Flender Siemens, sold from the 1960s until the 1980s. Flender (Siemens) high-torque enclosed gear drives allegedly used asbestos-fabric shaft seals and compressed asbestos housing gaskets across cement, steel, and paper industries, according to publicly filed asbestos litigation records. Allegedly incorporated asbestos-fabric shaft-seal packing, asbestos-fiber oil-seal rings, and compressed asbestos sheet housing gaskets on Flender high-torque enclosed gear drives, per publicly filed asbestos litigation records. Workers allegedly exposed around this product included Millwrights, and Rotating Equipment Mechanics. Asbestos claims are brought against the companies that made the products. If you worked with or around Flender Industrial Gearbox Shaft Seals and Housing Gaskets and were later diagnosed with mesothelioma, asbestosis, or another asbestos-related disease, you may have a legal claim against the manufacturer. Product Description
Flender AG (Bocholt, Germany) and its Graffenstaden French plant supplied high-torque enclosed gear drives, cement-mill drives, and paper-machine section drives imported into U.S. cement plants, steel mills, and paper mills. According to publicly filed asbestos litigation records, Flender gearboxes were allegedly assembled with asbestos-fabric shaft-seal packing, asbestos-fiber oil-seal rings, and compressed asbestos sheet housing gaskets on split-case joints and lube-oil manifolds. Flender rebuild kits allegedly contained asbestos gasket sheet and packing into the 1980s.
Workers Exposed
Millwrights, rotating equipment mechanics, gearbox rebuilders, and industrial maintenance technicians allegedly disturbed asbestos-fabric shaft seals and compressed asbestos housing gaskets when overhauling Flender cement-mill drives, paper-machine section drives, and steel-mill reduction gears.
